SEADOGS DESIGN STUDIO
Planning | Building Reg Drawings
Di’s husband, John, works in the new Design Studio in the small shop on the ground floor of The Boathouse. John works with an Apple iMac which is equipped with PowerCadd 9 software but he also works in the traditional way on a simple drawing board when appropriate.
He will be carrying on with his building design work and helping out with pattern making and some of the larger projects that need an extra pair of hands upstairs. He is currently working on several model projects of Cornish fishing boats.
Before joining SeaDogs John spent many years prior to 2010 working as a building designer and technician with PBWC Architects in St Ives and will be continuing with this work with a particular emphasis on “Eco Tecture” as opposed to architecture.
He has a passionate interest in environmentally friendly design issues, alternative forms of energy and energy conservation. He has a specialist knowledge of timber frame design including traditional green oak construction.
Whilst he does not profess to be a qualified architect he has an Open University degree in Environmental Science and Geography and has been a member of the Association of Environment Conscious Building and the Alternative Technology Association for many years.
Why don’t you pop into the new Studio and talk to John about details of your pet project and we'll see if we can help!.
